First edition of this World War II-era richly illustrated version of a Christmas classic. Illustrated by mid-century children's book artist Florence Salter, this version of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas features saturated color illustrations that bring Christmas to life in traditional 1940s style. Published during World War II, this book promises a level of Christmas abundance that few children would have experienced (but that most would have wished for). Only very faint soiling to wrappers, light rubbing to extremities, tiny chip to corner of rear wrapper. A lovely copy in near-fine condition.
