World War I
Collectible books from the First World War are hard to find. Most books from the era are worn from heavy use and careless handing, acidified by pollution, and worse. Europe was in chaos and Spanish flu was killing millions. Few people had the time or inclination to carefully protect their books with an eye toward preservation.
