First Edition of The Red Cross Girls in Belgium, 1916,
in Original Pictorial Dust Jacket

Vandercook, Margaret. The Red Cross Girls in Belgium. Philadelphia: John C. Winston, 1916.

Octavo. Hardcover. 1st Edition.

First edition of the third (and best) book in the Red Cross Girls series, in the extremely rare original pictorial dust jacket depicting the Red Cross girls and the injured soldiers they tended to during World War I. In this installment in the Red Cross Girls series--widely regarded as the best--the women tend to Belgian refugees and visit a POW hospital as part of their duties during World War I. Faint contemporary owner signature on patterned endpaper. Book lovely and near-fine with only a few spots of soiling to interior. Very rare dust jacket extremely good, with light wear and slight spotting along front joint.
