First edition of this lovely ABC book for children printed on linen, featuring wonderful illustrations influenced by Art Nouveau. Preceding the board books of the modern era, linen books were made of coated cloth to stand up to handling by small children. ABC books such as this one were often made of linen at the turn of the 20th century and were sturdy enough to serve as primers for numerous children across years and generations. A few faint stains to interior as usual, faint creases and slight rubbing to extremities causing a few loose threads as usual, color illustration bright. A near-fine copy.
