First edition of this mechanical pop-up book, with six lovely pop-up illustrations of the ABCs. This unconventional ABC book is part of the mid-century Jolly Jump-Ups series, known for its intricate pop-ups of idealized life in a typical nuclear family. Each letter has its own rhyming quatrain, which is illustrated as part of the pop-up. Contemporary Christmas inscription on margin of text portion of first page. Faint early price to rear board. Frog in "F" portion of pop-up a bit creased and loose at bottom (still functional), a few spots of very faint foxing, only light wear to extremities and rear board. A handsome copy in extremely good condition.
