Beautiful Silent Night-inspired nativity pop-up by acclaimed paper artist and illustrator Vojtech Kubasta, in exceptional condition. Kubasta is widely regarded as one of the finest paper artists of the 20th century, despite his early beginnings as a greeting card designer in communist Czechoslovakia. While many know him today for his lovely fairytale pop-up books, his Christmas "creches" such as this one helped to make him famous worldwide. This one is based on Silent Night and includes an elaborate pop-up of the nativity in a snow-covered European setting. All elements of the pop-up are completely intact including color acetate windows. Fine condition.
