Early edition of this historical and architectural survey of the 20 arrondissements of Paris, with 250 lovely illustrations of Paris sites and architecture after wood engravings by the French artist Diolot. Text in French. A wonderful historical and architectural survey of mid 18th-century Paris, richly illustrated with wood engravings by Diolet depicting a number of destroyed or heavily altered buildings such as Notre Dame and the Louvre. Text in French.  This work appears to exist in at least one other edition with 220 plates (30 fewer than the present copy) and 468 pages (versus 471 in the present copy), priority unknown. Only a couple spots of isolated foxing to interior, mild toning to spine. About-fine condition, handsomely bound in period-style full calf-gilt.
