First edition of this wonderful turn-of-the-20th-century ABC and spelling primer, featuring engaging illustrations drawing on Art Nouveau style. Preceding the board books of the modern era, linen books were made of coated cloth to stand up to handling by small children. ABC books such as this one were often made of linen at the turn of the 20th century and were sturdy enough to serve as primers for numerous children across years and generations. A couple faint stains to interior, one staple replaced with neat threat stitch, only slight rubbing to wrappers, overall color bright and vivid. Near-fine condition.
